Epic Notion Team Retreat: A Time to Reflect
It’s no secret: At Epic Notion, we like to do things big. So, no one was surprised when we were told we would be taking on the great outdoors of Asheville, NC for our company retreat. Our trip gave us a chance to get away from the hustle and bustle of life in Charlotte, NC, reflect on 2017 and prepare for 2018.
First, we had a chance to stop by and meet with a client to review a website design in the works. Afterwards, we grabbed a tasty lunch and headed to a house tucked away in the mountains, complete with a fire pit, ping pong table and plenty of space for a good game of Cards Against Humanity.
Our first two days in Asheville gave us time to reflect on 2017, look at how our company performed and discuss our 2018 goals. We discussed our service offerings and areas of improvement (there is always room to get better, right?) We were even challenged to reflect on ourselves and things we did well and areas we wanted to improve on. Our discussions were casual, honest, thought-out and helpful. But why do all of these things matter?
Sometimes, life seems to move a little too fast. Intentionally setting time aside to critique yourself isn’t only beneficial: It’s necessary to the success of a company. Visiting Asheville was filled with a lot of great lessons and a ton of laughs (we have a pretty funny crew.)
And you better believe we had some fun while we were in Asheville! On Friday evening, significant others joined in on the fun. Over the short week, we checked out Sierra Nevada Brewery, went snow tubing and enjoyed a hike in the scenic mountains. And of course we got some fresh new swag!
Now we’re back in the Queen City and ready to buckle down and make 2018 the best year yet! How does your company take time to reflect, set goals and #BeEpic?
